Ms. D. Fuller Ed. S

Desiree’ Y. Fuller holds an Educational Specialist Degree in Teacher Leadership, an MA in Curriculum and Instruction, an MA in Secondary Education, and a BS in Family and Community Service- Youth Emphasis: Specialization in Children’s Health. Desiree' also holds a certificate in Leadership for Social Justice and Equity in Education. Desiree' is currently pursuing National Board Teacher Certification.

Desiree’ has worked in the field of education since 2003 and has served in many teacher leadership roles that permitted her staff and scholars to experience great educational gains each school year. Desiree' currently serves as the head of her department and an Oakland County Literacy Leader.

Desiree’ was instrumental in the development and implementation of the Secondary Teacher Master’s Degree program for the University of Michigan- Flint which has enabled her to mentor and coach several teacher candidates to prepare them for instruction within the urban classroom. Those teachers went on to become instructional leaders throughout the Southeast Michigan region.

 

Desiree' is passionate about education policy and educational equity for minority populations. Desiree' participates in two elite fellowships, works with DEI leaders within the Michigan Department of Education, provides training state-wide in Restorative Practices, and provides Anti-Racist professional development for educators in Michigan.

Desiree’ has received multiple Teacher of the Year nominations, astounding success as a Forensic Debate coach, the Spirit of Detroit Award, the 2023 Transformative Teacher of the Year Award from the Black Male Educator Alliance, the 2022 Oustanding Teacher of the Year for her district award, and numerous accolades awarded throughout her educational career.

Desiree' is passionate about Culturally Responsive Teaching and Mentoring. Educators who have worked with Desiree' describe her as a Transformative Social Justice and Equity Leader. Desiree' is masterful as it pertains to positively transforming school climate and culture.

Desiree' is the co-founder of the Anti-Racist organization- The Anti-Racist Education Avengers (AREA) which works with educators to provide anti-racist training that will transform the school culture into an inclusive and positive one.

Desiree Fuller is the owner and operator of the Fuller Effect Educational Consulting Group, offering professional services nationwide, including mentoring, professional development, brand management, and writing support for educators.

Desiree’s educational philosophy is progressive-based.  Scholars learn better when lessons are directed at problem-solving and the application of real-world theory.  Desiree’ believes that educators should seek to build meaningful relationships with their scholars. 

​

Desiree' also mentors several high school and college students in her free time, in order to provide them with college preparation and support. 

 

She is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., an international service organization, and enjoys gaming, reading, and cooking in her spare time.
